ASDathletes

ASDathletes is a charitable organization whose goal is to support people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders in their athletic endeavors.
Sports can be a great form of therapy not only occupational but also socially. However, the costs of therapies, doctor's visits, etc often leave families financially burdened and sports are often overlooked. Especially sports that require expensive equipment or high participation fees.
ASDa wants to support those wanting to participate in sports. As ASDa grows with generous gifts, we plan to subsidize ASD individuals (of all ages) in their sporting events. One day, even fully sponsoring elite athletes with ASD and having a presence at major sporting events.

Team Brendon

Team Brendon is an organization geared towards helping children and their families who have been faced with hardship as a result of serious illness, abuse or other duress.
Team Brendon was started in March of 2007 to help raise money for Brendon Brown. You can read more about Brendon on his Team Brendon All Star Page. We started selling Tim McGraw raffle tickets to help his family with medical expenses and other needs. Before we knew it the community had embraced Brendon and Team Brendon with arms wide open. The need for help is always there so Team Brendon hopes to offer hope, help and support to families in need.

Thanks for your support!

Hello! Thanks for visiting our fundraising page! Somehow I got convinced to run the Marine Corp Marathon again this year. So….I figure my pain should allow for someone else's gain and these are two wonderful causes! I started running in 2006 and have run fairly consistently since then. In the past two years, I've run three half-marathons, the Marine Corp Marathon, and several 5 and 10ks.I'm not a competitive runner and run the races more for the social and fitness aspects than to compete against the other runners. Last year Sam and I both ran the Marine Corp Marathon as first-timers. This year, either because we're stupid or just plain crazy, we've decided to run it again and are bringing two newbie marathoners along with us. We will definitely have a great time and, while we're having fun, hope to raise a significant amount for these fabulous causes! top

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page! Some of you may not know me, so let me give you the quick readers digest version, at least where running is concerned. I started running just over two years ago. I ran for a few months, and did my first 5K, but shortly after that I found out I was preggers with my second baby, which put running on hold for a bit. Started up again after I was healed up from my c-section and have been going strong ever since. I find a lot of peace in running, it helps me clear my head, burn off energy, and allows me the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. More importantly by running I feel that I am setting a good example for my two boys, and showing them the benifits of an active lifestyle that keeps me fit and healthy. And, as if I needed any more reasons to run, I think its great that I can use my passion to help others doing things like this fundraiser. I am very passionate about helping out when I can, whether its volunteering my time, money, a-get inor talents. Both of these are wonderful organizations and I am proud to be running for them!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our team page! We appreciate your consideration in supporting our causes and efforts! I have always led an active and sporty life but running eluded me. Until 2006 after I had my second son and wanted to get back in shape and conquer something I was never able to do...RUN! I began walking, and then walk/jogging with my friend Kel (also on the team) with our strollers while our guys were deployed. That grew into my doing the Couch 2 5k program, and beginning to race. After running for just under a year I ran my first half marathon, and after just over a year, my first full marathon, last year's Marine Corps Marathon, with fellow team member Carrie. Part of my love for running, aside from the many mental and physical benefits it provides, lies in supporting worthwhile organizations through awareness, fundraising and camaraderie. My friends and I hope you will consider supporting Team Brendon and ASDathletes through your donations and sharing our campaign with others. Thank you to these amazing charities for allowing us to represent them and to you for your support!

We train in 100f temperatures with sky high humidity, at 4am or 10pm, in the rain and snow. We sacrifice family time and sleep, and push our bodies beyond limits we never thought possible. We are runners!
